Processing time for issuance of e-passport:

Express delivery: 30 working days (Depends on receiving passport from Bangladesh)

Regular delivery: 45 working days (Depends on receiving passport from Bangladesh)

(NB: Processing time may vary depending on the merit of individual cases. Mismatch of data in the applications and among different documents of an applicant usually take longer than the stipulated time for the issuing passport).

Delivery:

By Mail: The applicants are requested to provide at the time of enrolment a prepaid, self-addressed return envelope with tracking number.

In Person:

  • Please bring passport delivery slip (which you got during enrolment).
  • If the new passport belongs to your child (younger than 12 years) please also bring your NID or passport.
  • If you want to collect the passport by somebody else, please provide signed authorization letter for the authorized person.

When the new passport comes from Dhaka and is officially received through the system-generated email to the applicant requesting the applicant to pick up the passport, please do not get confused by this 'pick-up' message. Because the `pick-up’ message is not applicable for the applicants who have already provided a prepaid self-addressed return envelope, through which the newly issued/re-issued passport will be sent.
